What an exhilarating week. There was so much to take in at the National Kitchen & Bath Association's Kitchen and Bath Industry Virtual Show (KBIS). There were some technical difficulties that arose and postponed the exhibitor booths but the education and programming continued. That actually worked out well for us because while keeping up with client design work at the office during the week, I don't think we could have fit in the show floor as well!
One of the things that mom and I love about KBIS each year is that it reminds us of how "on-top" of the products in Kitchen design we are. Many times we've already used or specified for a client the products that manufacturers are promoting as "new". This really helps us move through the booths rather quickly allowing the truly new products being launched specifically at the show to be highlighted for us. During the education portion of the show this week, we learned so much and are extremely excited to share this knowledge and these new innovations with our upcoming Kitchen clients. In this post we are going to share with you some of the highlights that we loved. The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show and it's exhibitors have really stepped up to this new world of connecting and engaging. We recently were involved with a discussion about how the manufacturers will be able to show us the latest and greatest products they've been developing. It promises to be a truly immersive event using state-of-the-art technologies to allow us to engage as we normally would in person. We will be able to access experts live to ask all of our questions and some of the brands will be using Matterport technology to enhance the experience. In this post we are going to share what we are most excited to learn and discover during the show next week! If there is anything you'd like us to keep an "eye out" for, please don't hesitate to reach out or throw it in the comment section below!
An outdoor kitchen is the perfect space to have fun with color, whether taking cues from the surrounding landscape or going bright and bold. With many of us spending extra time at home and less time traveling abroad these days, there has been an increase in creating #staycation and #vacationathome spaces just outside our backdoor. Studies have shown that it doesn't matter if you live in an area that has a warm climate during two seasons or all year round, residential Outdoor Kitchens are on the rise and it doesn't look like it's about to slow down any time soon. Let's look at some of the trends we've been seeing develop around outdoor kitchen design recently.
Handleless kitchen cabinets are one of the biggest trends for 2021 for more pared-back, streamlined look. It's all about simplicity and a focus on cabinetry details. This idea has been around for a very long time but it is starting to take on more interest by the North American design community and homeowners alike as people try to incorporate less clutter in the look of their home. Thinking of Kitchen design in terms of Wellness is extremely important and reducing visual clutter is a big aspect to consider. In this post we will talk about the top 3 ways that you can incorporate this look into your new kitchen. We will also go over some of the advantages and disadvantages to consider before choosing this design aesthetic for your home.
