Are you looking to have your Kitchen completely renovated in time for your holiday parties this December? If so, it's already time to start planning! Yes, we know, it's entirely possible that our "parties" may look different this year, but even if we don't have our houses filled, it would be a treat to have them finished, wouldn't it? Below we discuss the timeline of major steps that need to be completed.
If you're not much of a reader, the cliff notes/coles notes version of this post is this:
If you want your Kitchen complete by December 21st, you need to order your cabinets by Sept. 11th, which means you want to start the design process no later than August 21st.
THE BEST WAY TO DO A TIMELINE IS TO REVERSE ENGINEER IT!
We are basing the following dates off of celebrations happening on Monday December 21st or later, allowing you to clean and set up for your get-together on the weekend. If your family plans to celebrate earlier than the 21st, then these deadlines would need to be earlier as well. These are all absolute deadlines. Obviously, it's always better to start earlier to avoid stress and allow for more time to clean and decorate after the renovation is complete.
This is to be used as a guideline to keep you on track, providing that you are using trusted professional trades to accomplish each step.
ELECTRICAL, TOUCH-UPS ETC: December 16th - 18th
BACKSPLASH INSTALL: December 14th-16th
CAMBRIA (COUNTERTOP) MUST INSTALL BY: December 11th
CAMBRIA (COUNTERTOP) MUST TEMPLATE BY: November 25th (Cambria in Windsor-Essex County typically has 2 weeks and 2 days as their lead time during the holidays. Check with your countertop supplier for their lead time and adjust accordingly)
CABINETRY INSTALLED: November 23th-27th (Bases installed first to allow for countertop template.)
CABINETRY DELIVERED BY: November 20th
CABINETRY ORDERED BY: September 11th (From the time you sign the purchase agreement to the time the cabinets arrive in your home you are looking at a 10 week lead time, especially during the rush of the Holidays.)
Note: These are the major deadlines, make sure that your Kitchen team is also scheduling the rest of the trades (flooring, painting, electrical, plumbing etc.) accordingly.
