What an incredible Oscars this year! We loved the added touches of the flying candy and the tour bus of people that came through. I wonder if they will do it again next year? Maybe we will find our way onto that bus for the 2018 Oscars. In the meantime, here are our latest match-ups for this years Oscars. We also, included some of our favourite tile and granite designs to pair with the attire this time around. We will start with cutie Michael Strahan in his dapper velvet suit. We paired him up with this stunning granite that we just had installed at one of our jobs in Indian Village, Detroit. It's "Exquisite" says the owner. Stay tuned for photos of that project.
All of the ladies of Hidden Figures looked beautiful on stage together and reminded us of this great lower level bar we created years ago. Taraji P. Henson's sophisticated black dress matching the creamy black finish of the cabinets paired with the stunning silver dress that Octavia Spencer wore brings out the fun metal backsplash and countertop combination. Then Janelle Monae's amazing ensemble tying it all together. Just gorgeous!
We love recommending Walker Zanger tile to our clientele. They are as elegant as Luciana Barroso looked with her husband Matt Damon on the Red Carpet. Enjoy this Mosaic collage that WZ put together with their beautiful metallic finishes.
Leslie Mann looked spectacular in this glamourous Zac Posen dress. We paired her with this elegant and feminine kitchen we created. The many layers remind us of the layers of moulding we designed for this beautiful crown detail.
We also loved this fun Paolo Sebastian dress that Cynthia Erivo wore to the Oscars! Sure, her knock-out Michelle Obama arms and figure doesn't hurt the look either. We decided to pair her with another Walker Zanger tile. This backsplash stone mosaic is from their Villa D'Oro collection. Talk about a great way to add personality to your kitchen.
You might remember we posted some of these match-ups from The Golden Globes on our Insta and FB accounts, but we didn't do up a blog post with them. Here are a few of the pics we posted and a few extras that we saved for our blog followers. Enjoy!
We hope you enjoyed this as much as we did! Please feel free to share these pictures / this post with your family and friends! We would love for them to become our next satisfied client!!
What an honour! We were presented with a very special award at our annual Women's Council of Realtors (WCR) holiday party! Entrepreneur of the Year!
WCR is a group of successful, Realtors and Affiliates who are professional and leaders in business, the industry and the communitees they serve.
This is such an elite group, that we are pleased to be a part of but it didn't even cross our mind that we would be recognized with an award, let alone the Entrepreneur of the Year award! Thank you so much to the leadership team for the honour and putting on such a lovely reception!
We had a great time at our table with the guys from Fieldstone Architecture & Engineering, the lovely ladies from Troy Abstract Title Agency and Luke "Cutco" Sasek!
It was so fun listening to "Adventure Woman" Lila Lazarus as our keynote speaker and adventure guide :)
Congratulations to the rest of the award winners! Karen Greenwood (President of the Greater Metropolitan Association of Realtors) Mark Webberly (US Bank Home Mortgage) and Bunni & Kathy (Linnell & Associates)!
What a show! We watched the #CMAawards50 while flipping back and forth to the #WorldSeries #game7 last night!
We had some fun matching up some of the presenters and performers with our Kitchen and Bath cabinet designs!
Here are some "match-ups" that you may have seen over on our social pages, but we've also kept a few solely for our readers here! Enjoy!!
We absolutely loved Hayley Orrantia's dress! If you can't "place" her in the Country Music scene, it's because she is most known for playing the spunky sister, Erica, on The Goldbergs! We matched her up with this stunning makeup area that mom designed years ago and yet it's still one of our most popular Houzz and Pinterest photos to date!!
Cool tidbit: Hayley actually liked this photo on our Instagram last night! :) Leigh was pretty excited!! Thanks, Hayley!!
Faith Hill looked just beautiful last night and how much do we love Tim McGraw's song Humble and Kind? We matched this sophisticated and strong couple up with this gorgeous dining room that we designed with the talented Patti of Homework Interiors. It was pretty cool that they used the same paint colour for their backdrop for this years CMA awards red carpet!
Here is another sweet couple! We love Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban! Such a lovely story behind their romance! We thought the flowers looked familiar!
Did you see Faith Hill fixing Eric Church's tie before he made his acceptance speech for Album of The Year? Too cute. Cheers to Mr. Misunderstood! We paired Eric with this Pub Style Bar we did for a client. The "W" at the top of the bar was for the client's last name but it's applicable here too...for the Win!
Class Act Reba! What a dress! What a woman! We just love her! This bathroom is actually mom's EnSuite before we remodeled it! We will need to show the before and after's of this project. Stay tuned for a future post on that! We kept the cabinetry just changed EVERYTHING else :) #qualitycabinets
Carrie, Carrie, Carrie! What a night of beautiful wardrobe changes! We absolutely loved everything she wore last night! Congratulations to her on her win of Female Vocalist of the Year! We thought this dress she wore on the Red Carpet was a great match for this beautiful EnSuite we designed with one of our Interior Designer friends, Sandra!
This may have been one of our favourite dresses of the evening! Sweet little RaeLynn! We matched her up with this gorgeous granite we chose for a guest bath we designed for a client in Milford, Michigan.
While we were in the mood of doing these "match-ups" we did one for The Cubs.... while it was 6-1! We worried we jinxed them but after an incredible game they DID IT!!! Way to go Cubbies! The curse has been lifted! No longer do you need to look back to 1908 for a World Series Win! Great game!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT &
